The city of Angers is located in western France and has about 150,000 inhabitants. In the past, Angers had a metre-gauge tram network, which was abandoned in 1949.

Since 2011, Angers has a new tram line with a length of about 12 kilometers, a second line is in preparation. The reconstruction of the tramway was carried out in standard gauge (1,435 mm).
